Testimonials:

"Carien Smit, Head of the Oakley House Training Center, ran, and is continuing to run, various workshops with our teaching staff on how to best support students with learning differences. Not only is Carien well informed and professional, but also she is very gentle and approachable in her teaching style. Through the very interactive workshop style of group work, case studies and sharing, our teachers have felt empowered to support the students in their classes. Carien has covered topics such as Inclusive Education, ADHD, Autism, and Attachment so far, and we are looking forward to more."
-Sarah Pike, High School Student Support, International School of Cape Town

"A fantastic and very informative course! I feel confident knowing that I am able to approach learners with Learning Difficulties, include them in the best way I know how and support them in my classroom. I recommend this course to anyone who struggles to identify why certain learners are not coping with the school load/curriculum, and how to support these learners appropriately and professionally. VERY HAPPY!"
-Robyn Horne, Grade 1 teacher

"The Facilitator’s Workshop was helpful and informative. I have now gained the knowledge and skills to help learners with learning difficulties. I am able to include all the learners in my lessons productively."
-Lorna Cooney, Grade 4 teacher

"Inclusive Education is when all students regardless of any challenges are placed in age appropriate general education classes. The 3-day workshop was very informative as teachers were equipped with the knowledge, methodologies and ideas on how to handle children with learning difficulties."
-Aaqilah Mahoet, Grade R teacher

"I found this course exceptionally useful. I have often been disheartened by the difficult task of upholding inclusive education in my large classroom. I am now able to identify needs and support my learners better. The course has empowered me to face daily teaching challenges with confidence and insight."
-Erin Clark, Gr 3 teacher

"I found the course extremely helpful. It opened my eyes to the types of barriers to learning my learners were experiencing. It was an amazing course."
